The Strange Beauty of the Periphery

These are the words Jorge Mur uses to describe my work in the Spanish magazine Culturamas.

Born in France, I spent 20 years of my life in the United States, where I graduated with a Master of Arts in Photojournalism from the University of Texas at Austin.

My eclectic professional career has always pushed me towards this geographical and human periphery, so easily ignored by the public. Whether it be through my documentary subjects, such as illegal immigrants or the death penalty in Texas, or my artistic practice, seeking to highlight the beauty of ordinary places and moments, with a particular longing for the American wide open spaces.

My work has been exhibited and published  in the US, Canada and France.

In 2018, I  was invited by 1415 Mobile Photographers to publish my first book Pale Blue, in Italy.

My second book It takes more than a hat to be a cowboy, was released in 2019.

My third book Until Death Do Us Part was released in April 2020,

with a foreword by Sister Helen Prejean and and afterword by Rick Halperin.

In 2021, I published a short book about a former ceramics factory located in central France : Les grès des Bonny

That same year, my work was included in the Estée Lauder Pink Ribbon Photo awards book, compiling all the finalists' photographs from 2012 to 2021.
